The Practice Team

We aim to provide an integrated range of primary health care services through a team of professionals. The team includes:

The Managing Partner

The managing partner, Mrs Suzanne Beacom, is responsible for the overall running of the practice and is available to assist you with any administrative requirements, problems, suggestions or questions concerning the practice.

Reception and Secretarial Staff

The receptionists will answer telephones, make appointments and deal with repeat prescriptions. They are happy to answer numerous and varied questions and offer help and assistance at all times. All have received appropriate training to meet your requirements. Advice they give is strictly to guidelines laid down by the doctors. The secretaries type referral letters and provide administrative support to the doctors.

It is a legal requirement that confidentiality of patients’ records is maintained at the highest level by all staff.

Practice Nurses

The practice nurses are Helen Cooling RN RM, Sandra Tooke RN RM, Francis Caulfield RN and Caroline Curtis RN. They are available by appointment and will perform procedures such as infant and adult immunisations, cervical smears, dressings, removal of stitches, ear syringing, wound management and taking blood pressure. They run clinics for patients with respiratory disease, diabetes and cardiovascular disease and provide advice on minor health problems, smoking cessation, family planning, sexual health, menopause and health education. Appointments may be made by telephoning the surgery after 10.00am each morning. The practice nurses are assisted by Debbie Parker, our healthcare assistant.

District Nurses

The district nursing team, employed by Bromley Healthcare, consists of sisters, staff nurses, enrolled and auxiliary nurses who provide skilled nursing care and advice in the patient’s home. Each patient’s needs are assessed and the care/treatment is planned with the doctor.

Community Midwife

The midwife, employed by South London Healthcare NHS Trust, is attached to the practice and offers regular antenatal clinics and advice during pregnancy and immediately after childbirth.

Health Visitors

The health visitors, employed by Healthcare, are fully qualified nurses who have received extra training in maternity and child health. They offer advice on all aspects of health care but especially problems relating to children and the elderly. They monitor the health and development of children and assist the doctors in running the child development clinics at Princes Plain.

Student Training

We are pleased to offer training to individuals pursuing a career in medicine or related specialities. You will be informed at reception if there is a medical student with your doctor. If you prefer not to have a student present during your consultation please inform reception or your doctor.
